Flash Filters

Hi guys

can any body tell me is it possible to import filters in flash (use other filters than those already existing in flash) like PhotoShop??

No its not possible.

Flash isn't raster image editing software like photoshop and therefore can't take the same kind of filters. If you want something to have a filter applied to it. Make the object in photoshop and import it into Flash.

That said if you know a lot of actionscript you can write your own image filters with the bitmapImage Class...

I think it would be interesting to pick appart Photoshop filters and see it they can be translated into Actionscript.

Actionscript based filters and the Bitmap class were developed before the aquisition by Adobe I believe. I don't think Adobe has had a chance to even think of making importing of Photoshop filters possible. That could be pretty cool though, it would definately give their online version of Photoshop a thicker pair of legs to stand on.

I'm pretty sure flash player 10 has custom image filter support. Sounds like its very programmatic though so maybe not something you'll see in the Flash CS4 interface but maybe there will be a place for code snippets or something similar to being able to export animation effects.
