Can I tell you smth? When you load it on localhost that means that you load it from your local machine...it's normally to load very fast...but on the web your computer has to download the swf. If you want to see how fast your swf will load on the web do this : open your source file in flash , then press CTRL+ENTER(windows) CMD+ENTER(mac)...in the pop up window that appears from the VIEW btn select Simulate Download and you will see how fast your swf will load on the web.
Good luck ;)

There aren't faster or slower ways of loading smth(well , at least not many).... in depends of size of the file that you load and of the bandwidth...
I think that a preloader it's what you need.

Let me know if that helped you.

If at all possible break up the files in to smaller segments and use one over arching movie that puts those swfs to use when needed. You could have an initial file that is 10k and has a preloader in it or a simple game that runs while a larger file loads. This will help to keep your viewers interested and not worrying about your site stalling out. And as a bonus this is just good practice.

Also, at the office we use Flash Optimizer which seems to clean up compiled swfs well. In my experience it usually trims off an extra 25% of the file size.
