I know of no workaround, didn't even know of this issue. What exactly is going on (meaning what are you trying to do)?

I am using a base movie to load another movie with a GET variable like:

Code: [ Select ]
loadMovie("http://www.server.com/file.php?id=3550","view_stage");

and in file.php I am checking the referer, so joe shmoe cant come along and load the movie by itself.(thus being able to rip/download/decompile it)

the goal is if someone were to decompile the base movie, and load the url, they would not get any data.

This worked perfectly in my testbed, however certain people weren't able to load the movie correctly. >:o

I traced it back, and determined that in later versions of the flash plugin,the referer is not being sent in the get request through load movie, when in prior versions it did.

Clever disguise there. I was going to suggest using the _url attribute in Flash, but see that is not what you are going for.

I honestly have no clue whats up, I don't typically work server-side. Sorry :(
