Hi there all!
Ive got a major issue that i cant seem to overcome!
I have created a simple flash site which loads its content using attachmovieclip. I have created a preloader which works fine. But it does not show the preloader until about 90% has loaded. I have found out that this is due to the movie loading the content of the movieclips that are set to load on frame one in the linkage. SO it loads the content before the preloader! ahhhh Does anyone here know if there is a way around this so that it loads the content while the preloader works?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :-)
Thanks in advance

Managed to sort it out by putting the preloader on a separate fla and loading the original swf file from the new file. for example:

loadMovieNum("filename_of_your_main_movie.swf", 1);

this.onEnterFrame = function() {

var loaded = _level1.getBytesLoaded();

var total = _level1.getBytesTotal();

if (loaded > 4 && total > 4) {

var percent = Math.round(loaded / total * 100);

// add any optional stuff to display how much is loaded here

if (percent == 100) {

_level1.play(); // start playing the main movie

this.gotoAndStop(2); // send the preloader movie to an empty keyframe to hide it

delete this.onEnterFrame; // stop running the preloader code

}

}

};

stop();

Nice work to catbert303 on flash kit for the code!

cheers for looking anyway guys!

When you set the property of your linkage , Don't check "Export in first frame", instead of that put your mc on the stage before it is required.
