flash Query

HI All, :wink:

I have a query.....I am using a slide presentation (FLASH MX 2004 PRO)and have slides from 01 to 28 now when i reach on slide14 I have a empty loader called LOAD.
coz i have a button on this slide14 which will load my external R12.swf file. once this external SWF file is loaded, and when i unload this external file from R12.SWF by clicking on the close button of R12.swf file it unloads so this is fine.

NEED SOLUTION: :cry:
but the IMP part is once the external file is loaded and i move my mouse on this file to read the lines my cursor shows as "finger" as it shows on the button and when i click anywhere it loads another file which suppose to be opened from slide14 but not this external file.

please guide me. :idea:

Yeah, you can't hide buttons behind movies.

What you can do is disable your button once it is clicked. YOu can do this with
Code: [ Select ]
buttonInstanaceName.enabled = false;

If by chance you need it re-enabled again just do the same thing but set enabled to true to re-enable it.

on (release) {
loadMovie("ALLREG/R12.swf", "regular");
//loadMovie("TESTING.swf", "regular");
//gotoandstop(2);-----------------------------(my earlier code)
b12.enabled = false;--------------------------(your code works) :lol:
}

myearlier code= gotoandstop(2);
i tried to send to time line to nextframe but when i load the external R12.swf file the button got dissabled on the main exe.

Now the probl is whenever i close this external file (r12.swf), it doesnt get ennable. please see the code i have used below

on (click) {
unloadMovie(this.regular); ---------(this line unloads myexternal file)
_root.b12.enabled = true;----------(this doesnot work)
}

please guide me

It must be a targeting issue.

And is on(click) seriously a Flash MX 2004 command? I had no idea they redid their handler scheme as well. Heh, maybe I should upgrade :-/

Anywho... in your on(click) statement run a
Code: [ Select ]
trace(_root.b12);
If it returns undefined, the targeting to your button is wrong. If it returns _level0.b12 then it is correct and I have no clue what is wrong. Unless it's being picky on the order of the code, in which case put the enable code before the unloadMovie code.
