I have made a movie and converted it to .flv and uploaded it to my web server but it will not play.
I am using flash pro 8 and set the .flv to progressive download. The movie is 20 Mbs in size.
FLVPlayback Component is what I used.

I have read what I think is the right thing to do with this file but I am missing something as it doesn't work.
I have tried using an absolute and relative path to the file but no difference.
The movie is in a flash file within a html file on my website.

Well i had a problem once where locally if you click on a thumbnail the bigger pic shows, and as soon as i uploaded it nothing.

What happened was is that i had to put the HTML page in the same folder as the images... So maybe you need to do the same with your HTML page and .fla file

It could also be that your movie file is just to big and you need the service provider to have streaming ability on their side.

You need to add the .flv MIME type to your web server. Not sure about Apache, but I know IIS by default does not include it and it has to be added before the flv will work.

okay thanks for the help.
I have now got it to load on my web server but only when I am on the server.
it looks like i will have to try streaming which I have never done before so I will take some time out to learn this and try it.
My site is
http://www.mac-designs.co.uk
The file with the movie is in the section Portfolio Work - Design Practise.
It will take me a while to make it happen and failing this I will use quicktime instead where you can download the movie.
The actual movie was not made for the web and is infact a DVD.
The screen resolution for my site is 1280-1024, other resolutions will follow soon.
