Is it possible to get my flash movie to turn into just a jpeg after it has played? Or what about checking to see if the user even has flash player installed, and if not then to just display the jpg rather than ask them to download the player?

Thanks for your help :D

To check if they have flash you will require to do that using html when you embed the movie into a webpage.

using javascript is more or less the norm for this. There's several variations but one of the most popular is here: http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/detection.htm

Thank you for that advice!
Is there a way to do this without javascript? Maybe using php or something?

javascript is really the only way to do it within the browser. This is quick and instant really, directing the user to a static page instead.

The other option is within the flash movie itself, but that seems counterproductive in your case.

One other thought is to simply do nothing and let the browser prompt the user to download flash. but this is inefficient and can really lag before the prompt comes up. At least on IE.
