Ok so I entered this code in:

<BODY topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0">
<TABLE border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"
height="100%">
<TR>
<TD align="center" valign="middle">INSERT YOUR FLASH MOVIE OBJECT/EMBED TAGS
HERE</TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>
</BODY>

But my flash movie only moved down half an inch. Whats wrong? I need it to be center in the middle of the page.

Here's how my current code look like.

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>Untitled-1</title>
</head>
<body bgcolor="#000000">
<!--url's used in the movie-->
<!--text used in the movie-->
<BODY topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0">
<TABLE border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%" height="100%">
<TR>
<TD align="center" valign="middle">
<object classid="clsid27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="600" height="500" id="Untitled-1" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name="movie" value="Untitled-1.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" />
<embed src="Untitled-1.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="600" height="500" name="Untitled-1" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
</object>
</TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>
</body>
</html>

Someone please help me with this. Is driving me nut. Thanks in advanced! :(

OK decided to go the easy way out, since flash doesn't have a simple center option. I used dreamwaver inserted my movie and one click align center and it's done. :(

Hey keoka. Centering your movie is really really simple in html, and I"m hoping it works with XML -- which I think you are using. At least I think that's what you're going for.

Just use the <center></center> tags around your <object> tags and it should center the flash movie in the middle of the page for you.

something like this:
Code: [ Select ]
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>Untitled-1</title>
</head>
<body bgcolor="#000000">
<!--url's used in the movie-->
<!--text used in the movie-->
<BODY topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0">

<center>
<object classid="clsid27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="600" height="500" id="Untitled-1" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name="movie" value="Untitled-1.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" />
<embed src="Untitled-1.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="600" height="500" name="Untitled-1" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
</object>
</center>

</body>
</html>
  1. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
  2. <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
  3. <head>
  4. <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
  5. <title>Untitled-1</title>
  6. </head>
  7. <body bgcolor="#000000">
  8. <!--url's used in the movie-->
  9. <!--text used in the movie-->
  10. <BODY topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0">
  11. <center>
  12. <object classid="clsid27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="600" height="500" id="Untitled-1" align="middle">
  13. <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
  14. <param name="movie" value="Untitled-1.swf" />
  15. <param name="quality" value="high" />
  16. <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" />
  17. <embed src="Untitled-1.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="600" height="500" name="Untitled-1" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
  18. </object>
  19. </center>
  20. </body>
  21. </html>

I hope that might help. It works for all the html published files that Flash MX publishes for me. Good luck!

I always use the <div align="center"></div> tags around Flash movies because it makes me feel hip. :D Plus, I think it's more XML friendly and up to date. Of course if you're using strict XHTML then it won't like it at all.
