hey guys,
awsome work being done here, sorry to ask question on first post, but thats the way it goes i guess.

If i have loaded an external swf into a movieclip on the base swf (say on frame 1). It fills up the whole screen so that i cannot see the main menu of the base swf, i want a button on the loaded swf to command the base swf to gotoAndPlay(2). Ive read enigmatic's posts on how to command the loaded swf from the main swf but i cant find out anywhere how to do it the other way around.

I understand it has to do with _parent. or _root. but i dont know how to use this :( .

Thanks for any help

If you are asking the base.swf to go to a different frame, just use the _root command:

_root.gotoAndPlay(2);

The _root command basically tells flash to go the the very top level.

If you were asking flash to play frame 2 of a movie on the base.swf, you would do the following :

_root.instanceName.gotoAndPlay(2);

Hope that is of help.
