I have developed my first flash menu using a program called ScriptOcean Flash Menu Wizard http://www.scriptocean.com/menu.html I like the outcome of the menu but I am having one tiny problem. When a page loads the user must click on the menu before it is opperational. This means that until the user clicks, mouse overs and links do not work. Many users will click once on a menu option and because the link doesn't work, they assume that its broken and they get frustraighted and leave. So is there a way that i can "activate" the menu file as soon as the page loads? I am completely new to flash

Here is the HTML that I am using to embed:

Code: [ Select ]
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.c21atthebeach.com/flash/sidebarmenu.swf" width="200" height="350">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.c21atthebeach.com/flash/sidebarmenu.swf" />
<param name="menu" value="false" />
<param name="bgcolor" value="91B1D7" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
</object>
  1. <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.c21atthebeach.com/flash/sidebarmenu.swf" width="200" height="350">
  2. <param name="movie" value="http://www.c21atthebeach.com/flash/sidebarmenu.swf" />
  3. <param name="menu" value="false" />
  4. <param name="bgcolor" value="91B1D7" />
  5. <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
  6. </object>

If you're using IE, you may be running into this problem because of a patent fight that Microsoft lost:

You might want to check out SWFObject, which loads your SWF via javascript, which gets around the activation issue, and does some other neat things as well:
