I was wondering how people draw so well in flash? Can anyone tell me how, or post some site that teaches it?

can you give an example of what you mean? a cartoon site? or just a
flash site?

If you are asking because you want to learn, I honestly suggest that you
give the on-board tutorials that come with flash. They are excellent.

If you want a quick reference, go to http://www.kirupa.com but I'm not 100%
sure they have drawing tutorials there. I've never looked hehe :P

The main ways people do so well in Flash, are either by sketching on paper, scaning, then inking with Flash, or they have a tablet so they can draw directly into flash.

yes practice and using illustrator,
the pen tool in illustrator is out of this world, you cannot get the same curvature and freeform in flash, so for any vector based drawings, illustrator first, and export to flash ;)

not that i dont like it, the way illustrator draws and functions with the pen took is not the same as flash, although flash is catching up and is trying to be just like illustrator when it comes to vector art.

I would make the same conclusing but for the reason of all the other tools in illustrator, from color selection, to how layers are managed, to gradients.

I too used to have a lot of beef with the Flash pen tool. It's better with flash 8 now that you can activate "object drawing" mode. Also the illustrator pen tool uses ALT to make pull Beziers off of an anchor, I'm more used to it than using flashes CTRL+ALT.

well im sure you already know, but Pshop is all pixel based, not shape, so no way you can export to vector shapes,,,,,,BUT you can import image files to flash and trace bitmap.....not recommended as the file size gets way to BIG. :P

Don't agree with you here, sorry. I prefer the line tool in Flash, you can bend it to whatever way you want. Ive never been able to get the hang of the line tool. I have Illustrator CS2 on my comp at home but honestly i have never even opened it before... oh wait, i think i may have once, but it was by accident!

You can't convert a pixel image in PS to vector. Not in PS anyway. You could export your pixel image to illustrator or flash and trace around it.

Ive started drawing in PS myself, it's really good, but not a true vector. Illustrator is difficult but I might try and learn it.

PS = Vexel
Ill + Flash = Vector

But when you export it as a jpeg etc, it turns to raster.

Thats not true. There is a button in the paths pallet that converts a selection to a path. It's doesn't do a great job with low resolution selections, much better with high resolutions.
