Hey everyone, I am relatively new here, I don't know much of anyone besides Unflux.

I noticed the Flash and Actionscript forum doesn't get much play around here, so I was wondering how many members here actually know and use Flash/Actionscript?

I myself am an actionscripter, never was much on the design side of Flash. I do know HTML, CSS, Javascript, and a tad bit of DHTML too (not much though), so I will be checking out the other sections as well and I will try to lend a hand to those in need when I can. :D

I really haven't got too far into Flash or ActionScript but I can program in numerous languages and I plan on eventually getting good with ActionScript once I get into Flash more.

I have made a few things with Flash MX, but not very good at it yet. However, considering it only took me 3 days to learn the couple of things I did do I feel pretty confident I can get better in time. ActionScript is something I still need to look at. And I have created a few ad banners in CoffeecupFirestarter. That's about it. It's on my agenda of things to do.

If you're interested in a looksee, here's the second thing I created in Flash. Pretty basic, but I felt it was a good start:

I know a little about actionscript. I've actually been learning alot about it lately whilst I design my new page. It's actualy helped me with my javascript hierarchy aswell.

use the search button! we've discussed this before. ;) (inside joke from kirupa)

I know some actionscript, and because of that a little javascript. But I
only do what I need to do to get by, not to be a programmer. I actually
dread working with code, as my forte is definitely the design end of
web design.

Glad to see you around here lost! I hope you find yourself a new little
home here. We're in need of more people like b_heyer, ATNO/TW,
cowkiller, etc. Hope you stick around a bit. :D

b_heyer: Yes, I learned Javascript before Actionscript, but I found that learning Actionscript has helped me learn more about Javascript, and vice-versa of course. Actionscript was easier for me to learn since I already knew Javascript.

Unflux: Hmm, good point about the search. Just think of this as an updated list of sorts  I just may have found myself another nice little home, this seems like a nice forum :D

ATNO/TW: Pretty good for an early work in Flash. I certainly know I can't animate in Flash. I rely on actionscripted motion because I can manage that way better than I could manage any tweens :P

Here are some of my Flash experiments...

Jumping Orbs (100% AS):

Spider (100% AS except for the logo title and random motion button):

Soda Powered Rocket Pill (smoke bubbles generated via 100% AS):

Resizing Photo Gallery (dynamically preloads, loads, and fades .jpg images):

I currently have no Flash animations under my belt, just AS experiments

as you are already well aware, you stun me with this stuff. It's
absolutely incredible, as usual. My favorite is the photo gallery, since it
seems to be the most practical.

I was just joking Unflux. You know I love you (in a strictly plutonic friendship kind of way).
