Guys,

It is a simple question. I am using a movieclip to be scrolled by the default User Interface>ScrollPane Component in Flash 8. When I double click to change its color and look and feel, it says

"Create a instance of this symbol SWF or edit its properties using the Parameters........"

How do I make modification to that?

Thanks in advance..

click the instance on your stage, then open the component inspector window by click window/component inspector or by shotcuts "Alt+F7"
then you can change the parameters on your own way

Thats what macromedia reference says too. I do not get any option to do it from there.

For eg: how do you change the scrollbar background color of the component "UIScrollbar" availabe under Flash User Interface Section?

I've had to edit the scroll bar a number of times. They made it a pretty big pain the rear, because there is like 30 graphics for the scrollbar.

Open up one of the themes in the macromedia folder. On my PC it was here:
C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash 8\en\Configuration\ComponentFLA

Copy the scrollbar Library asset into your flash file and edit away. On compile it will put your scrollbar Library items over the default Flash ones.
