hello, well i wanted to display Iframes within a flash header of mine.

so how would i go by making a box that will support an external file that has the html in it?

i tried a multi line textbox with a var and render text as html, and made a text config file that gets loaded with AS, it has $"varname"="then here i tried to put the html code *Iframe code to html page*, but that way didn't work, i'm not sure how to go about doing this, so basically i want to load html into a box in flash from external txt source

just use a dynamic text and set it's htmlText property.
i.e.:
dynText.html = true;
dynText.htmlText = "<a href='some url'>something</a>";
Beware that flash doesnt recognise too many html tags.

* Anchor tag
* Bold tag
* Break tag
* Font tag
* Image tag
* Italic tag
* List item tag
* Paragraph tag
* Span tag
* Text format tag
* Underline tag
those are the allowed tags, i also learned that you can also create new styles and tags by using CSS
Code: [ Select ]
You can create styles that redefine built-in HTML formatting tags that Flash Player uses (such as <p> and <li>). You can also create style classes that can be applied to specific HTML elements using the <p> or <span> tag's class attribute, or define new tags.

i read even more and i got lost cuz there was to much info but i think i can't use that method to make a iframe tag

i think icecold is good at the question you raised... such replies would only come from someone who learned things his way and mastered it ...

@bebsie oh my, i'm being flatter :oops: ... in fact i don't work on my home site currently (anyway i consider redesign it completly), i'm developing something else. Also busy with other things too, but i take some time to answer on ozzu as well.

@sesoe: show me the design of your header and where exactly you want to display the iframe, this way i can help you.

What type of flash program are you using?

Is it Swish?

Or is it Adobe?

well i have an hour or 2 before i go.
but really the ifram page i want to display i just a video

i wiill be makeing this more complex but basicly like this.

the iframe that i will try to make display in flash is going to be a simple plain html page with embedded tv staions in it. from what i learned flash only allows flv movies and mp3 file formats
so i was just gonna setup a iframe and display the video's that way

then i suggest you make the flash header smaller and use a real html iframe in the right side.

this topic was mainly about a header/intro i was doing for my site, but i just gave up on it and left it alone.
so i started my flash profile, but i remembered that i needed the iframe for this also
