alright...
so i've got six movies that i want to be preloaded into this flash...
so i'm setting them up in the library and exporting them for actionscript...

now... i don't want to export them in frame1 because then it'll have to load them all before even running through the preloader and, dang are they a heavy load...

anyways... is there any way around this?
i've tried clicking the 'export' for actionscript' selection
and unclicking the 'export in frame 1' selection,
but then i can't call them up using attachMovie();

any ideas, workarounds, anything?

thanks...

okay... done...
i just dragged the mcs in question onto the stage, but out of the viewing area, gave them all unique instance names and put in some script tell each one to stop...
this way, they were preloaded but not playing ('cos that'd just suck - they're video with sound and blah blah)...

anyways... since they were preloaded, invisibly, i could access them using attachMovie...

this seems dumb, though... there's got to be another way to export for actionscript in frame 3, let's say...

anyone?

Did you try using "Export for runtime sharing", apart of doing the "Export for ActionScript"?

That should solve it... :)
