I wasn't sure how to title this one, but this should be fine. Here's the problem, I'm building a website, and I want to have an intro before the main site loads in, which is basically all the components that make up the homepage falling into place, fading in, dropping in etc. Now, I've made this a seperate swf, but now what I need to know is how do I get the main swf which contains the site and all of its buttons/functions to load in straight after the intro swf has finished playing. I've used MCtween for all of the animation for the intro swf, and the the homepage has a mask animation at the beginning. For it to look correct it would have to play the into swf and straight after that the mask animation should play which is at the beginning of the homepage swf.

If that wasn't easy to understand or if you need more details then just ask and I'll explain a bit better, but any help would be greatly appreciated as I have a deadline to get this site finished. Thanks.

better use another main swf as a loader
so you'll have:
main swf which first loads intro; when intro finish playing,
main swf loads the site with buttons and stuff.
Code: [ Select ]
this.createEmptyMovieClip("introH", 0);
this.createEmptyMovieClip("siteH", 1);

introH.loadMovie("intro.swf"); // show some preloader here
siteH.loadMovie("site.swf");

onEnterFrame = function(){
if (introMC._currentframe = 130) // that would be your last frame from the intro
{
  delete onEnterFrame;
  siteMC.gotoAndPlay(1);
}
}
  1. this.createEmptyMovieClip("introH", 0);
  2. this.createEmptyMovieClip("siteH", 1);
  3. introH.loadMovie("intro.swf"); // show some preloader here
  4. siteH.loadMovie("site.swf");
  5. onEnterFrame = function(){
  6. if (introMC._currentframe = 130) // that would be your last frame from the intro
  7. {
  8.   delete onEnterFrame;
  9.   siteMC.gotoAndPlay(1);
  10. }
  11. }

... so, if i were you, i would load the site in the background, while the intro is playing, so that the user wont have to wait after the intro is over.
