Any ideas why a dynamic text field set to render HTML text refuses to display anything when it's masked, even when all 39,477 Glyphs have been embeded ?

strange, as it seems. I tried it both in Flash MX and Flash 8.
In flash MX works ok:
Code: [ Select ]
txt1.html = true;
txt1.htmlText = "<a href=\"http://www.google.com\">google</a>";
txt1.htmlText += <a href=\"http://www.google.com\">frogle</a></p>";
txt1.htmlText += "<a href=\"http://www.google.com\">boogle</a>";
  1. txt1.html = true;
  2. txt1.htmlText = "<a href=\"http://www.google.com\">google</a>";
  3. txt1.htmlText += <a href=\"http://www.google.com\">frogle</a></p>";
  4. txt1.htmlText += "<a href=\"http://www.google.com\">boogle</a>";

And i only embeded basic latin :D

But ... in flash 8, the same code doesnt display even if i don't use a mask.
Instead, this code works just fine, with both mask and non mask:
Code: [ Select ]
txt1.htmlText = "<b> this is bold text </b>";

Probably they removed some html tags from the multitude of html tags that they had :D

I'm sure this is the first step for the introduction to Apollo

I Decided to strip the HTML from this particular area & stick with a non-html text field.

i have has and fixed this problem before, if i remember you have to embed the textfield in a movieclip and mask the movieclip not the textbox for it to display properly

Let me know if that doesnt work
