hi there ppls, I have a problem that I cannot fix. I have hours of music to use in flash, yet they're all in 'windows media file' format and the program won't recognize them. when I try to convert them, the conversion programs can't find the music. can someone please help me, i'm desperate!

First thing is, welcome to ozzu.

secondly, please do not post your topic in multiple forums. Please also do not use all caps in your title.

thirdly, I removed your crosspost from general, it does not belong there. :)

fred,

what conversion programs are you using? and what is the file extensions of the music that you have? wma? windows media reads all kinds of files, a little more info'd be helpful...

a little more info would be helpful. this kinda thing should be pretty easy to work out. if your windows media player can find it, a program that converts wma files to wav or whatever you want should be able to find it, too...

but ya gotta know what kind of file you're starting off with.

and, unflux, tight site... text is small, but i'm near-sighted so it's all gravy... really clean and professional and light...

right, this is what i would do.

download This

open the problem files in it. go to save as, and change the format to java, then to web java (there are to file type boxes, alternatives of the java fle type)

i will elaborate when i get home (at college atm)

this will then bring the file size way way down, and flash will play the files easily. there will be a slight loss of quality, but the bandwidth save is worth it.
