Hey guys -- I'm doing a website nearly all in flash (as per the client). Check it out at http://www.laurentilden.com

Anyway, the Flash seems to run best on Flash player 8 or 9, and I've had problems with content not loading on earlier players. I want to add some script (Javascript?) in so that when the page loads, it checks what version of the Flash Player the client has, and if it doesn't have the latest, it will take you to a redirect page strongly advising them to upgrade (or else content will not be displayed correctly!).

Anybody know a way to do this? I think it should be relatively straightforward, but I can't seem to find any solid answers on Google without trudging through a whole lot of nothing on the Adobe site...

Any help would be appreciated! :D

Oh also, it would be AMAZING if the script did the same thing regarding the browser (page wants IE7 or Moz2).

yea, it's at least one topic in this site too about detecting flash version.
On adobe site is a nice example.
“True mastery transcede any particular art. It stems from mastery of oneself - the ability, developed throgh self-discipline, to be calm, fully aware, and complety in tune with oneself and the surroundings. Then, and only then, can a person know himself. ”
