Hey,

I pretty new to flash and I need help with dynamic text fields and preloading them. For animations, I have a BG that flys in and then the Main content dynamic text fades in (the dynamic text field is in a movie clip). However, I keep coming across some lag before the file connects and renders the HTML properly.

My question is how do I solve this with a preloader? Most of the preloader tutorials online point that you do a stop(); and then have a "gotoAndPlay(2);" sort of function but the lag is still there in the external file connecting. What's the best way to solve this.

I know this probably easy but I can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated.

are the dynamic text fields in another swf and you are loading it?
because otherwise i see no point in preloading. Preloading is exactly what it states ... pre - load -> which means it is something before loading. So if you have no loading, what exactly you want to preload?

I was kind of wondering the same thing, or even if the text is on a remote server. I've never had any issues with dynamic text loading instantly from an XML or TXT file.
