nononono, not like that. More like this: (of course, if postit is a button and not a movieclip, then use "_root" instead of "this")
Code: [ Select ]
postit.onRollOver = function(){
 this.attachMovie("news", "news", 100);
}
postit.onRollOut = function(){
 this.removeMovieClip("news");
}
  1. postit.onRollOver = function(){
  2.  this.attachMovie("news", "news", 100);
  3. }
  4. postit.onRollOut = function(){
  5.  this.removeMovieClip("news");
  6. }

I've not once passed an argument to the removeMovieClip method.
I always have the target MovieClip remove itself.

Code: [ Select ]
removableMovieClip.removeMovieClip();
