k i'm fairly new to the whole function of loading external swfs:
My problem is whenever the swf is loaded onto the stage on level 1. it works fine but when you click to go back to a different section it never goes away. When you click on artwork the swf loads: (see website)

http://www.furia1200.com/

but then when you click back to (reel) i want the swf to go away completly. so what i did was when you click on "artwork" the button has this:

Code:
Code: [ Select ]
on (release) {
    _root.pages.gotoAndStop("artwork");
}

on (release) {
    loadMovieNum("gallery.swf", "1");
}
  1. on (release) {
  2.     _root.pages.gotoAndStop("artwork");
  3. }
  4. on (release) {
  5.     loadMovieNum("gallery.swf", "1");
  6. }

and that loads the movie great and it does exactly as i wanted it to. but when then i didn't really know what i was supposed to do to remove the movieNum so i just put this on the "REEL" button.

Code:
Code: [ Select ]
on (release) {
    _root.pages.gotoAndStop("reel");
}

on (release) {
    removeMovieClip("gallery.swf");
}
  1. on (release) {
  2.     _root.pages.gotoAndStop("reel");
  3. }
  4. on (release) {
  5.     removeMovieClip("gallery.swf");
  6. }

apparently this wasn't what i was supposed to do? (scratches head) anyway any help would great. thanks

Well there are two things going on. When you load a movie into a level it exists regardless of the frame so thats why it doesn't go away. I would actually dump the loadMovieNum and just do a loadMovie. The difference is that you build a target clip for the second one. You can then actually refer to the movie and pass things back and forth easily.

The problem your hitting is that the removeMovieClip command can't actually remove a movie from a level because it doesn't have any way to refer to the clip later.
