Render Test as HTML with working Fade

I figured out how to get HTMLtext to fade in and out. HTMLtext usually exists in an on or off state and applying any alpha changes won't work.

What you need to do is apply a filter to the movie clip with the text inside. I used an inner drop shadow. When applied to a movieclip which contains a text box the content of the movie clip including the htmltext will fade in/out with any alpha changes.

This is very handy if you have clients who can alter the text in flash through some form of CMS.
