Hello all.... I need help possibly on the HTML side of screen resolutions.... Seems that my flash site http://www.geocities.com/basic_means/ Appears huge under 800 by 600 pixels.... My friend says that on his computer it doesn't appear to fit the screen.... I've encountered this problem also on the computers at my school.... Is there any HTML or Actionscripting code that could adjust the size of the movie to fix this over sizing? It works fine on my computer (I'm at 1024 x 768 pixels) but I'm more concerned about the viewing of others.... Hope someone can help...
Thanks SycomCOmp

According to your source code you embed the movie with a fixed size of 924x431, so it will be larger on an 800x600.

You COULD set the width and height of your embedded object (in the HTML) to 100%, this will automatically make the movie fill up all available space in the browser, but this also causes scaling of the content inside, which may or may not make things look bad.

Theres also the option of redirecting dependant on the screen resolution, but that would require you to create 2 versions of the site (or 2 different html files that use the same .swf file but have it set to different widths/heights)

And last but not least... it is always recommended you design for at least 800x600 since that is still a majority monitor size.

Thanks a lot for your input lostinbeta.... I'm running tests between the resolutions and finding a uncentered page(in 800x600)..... I've seen the redirecting dependant on flash sites before, but don't think it should be necessary :? But I guess thats how some designers do it. I'll have to try a design in 800x600 and see what pops up
Any other suggestions would be appreciated
