What I'm trying to do is speed up Layer2 faster than Layer1. To do this, I would have to use "setInterval" and "nextFrame," but I'm not very good with writing these scripts... Can someone help me out...

Unless the items on layer1 and layer2 are different movieclips you won't be able to make one go faster than the other. Using nextFrame would move both layers at the same speed because they're on the same timeline.

One way you might have objects on one "layer" moving faster than another set of objects would be to make all the clips in the movie dynamic and therefore actually independent of any layers. You could then control each set of clips in functions each regulated by their own setInterval method.
