Work on the front of the car, than add some colors or pics to make a cover for it! and perhapes you can even add some efects, like motion, or noise, or whatever, and to be even easier, you can load the flash through iframe in tha page or css, so the page won't load so hard!
But this is how I would do it!

Create a mask.

2 Pics, the car and your wireframe car, mask it so that you have the wireframe picture sliding over the original pic, somewhat faded, shaking effect/tremble effect.

i say

make the wireframe more like a 3d rendered model...

with more detail.

then do what ifrit said, but have a bar of glowing white be masked. That will make the vector shine over/ through it..

if you dont understand what i mean, i can always show you ;)

I got to re-draw the key line to match the photo. I have asked for a 3d rendered image from the CAD person.

I think I know what you guys mean and when I find the time to implement it I will post it up (on a private link if it terns out to be poor)

you can use 3d graphics software then integrate it into flash you'll get amazing results...if you know 3d animation (its not too hard to learn with maya) you can create animations then keyframe them into flash...

I've long been a fan of what Unflux.com did over at seo-guy.com

Rather inspiring I must say :D
Strong with this one, the sudo is.
