smooth gif movement?

Hi,

check out my flash:

see the blue dot? the way it moves pixel by pixel, where as the others are smooth?

can i fix this? thanks

Ummm... I don't know if I need glasses but I see no difference...

update:

i just changed the swf file. if you take a good look, you see that the image distorts at where it says arkitus, when it is moving.

or is it just me?

This is because of the way Flash handles images. The most you can do to fix this is open up the library panel, right click on your image in the library, open the properties panel for it... and in there uncheck the 'allow smoothing' option and try playing with the quality settings.

But in general Flash can be a pain with imported images. This issue right here is very common and usually just overlooked as just how flash works.



Also as a sidenote... when using imported images into flash, try to include a 2px transparent border or something around the image. Flash has a tendancy to smash the far right and bottom pixels inwards which can cause distortion. If you have a transparent 'frame' around the image, the transparency gets smashed in and no distortion occurs.
