Anyone have a clue how to do this mirrored spectrum display effect?

I could be wrong but I don't think the spectrum is correct for the song. I think its just a video file containing a random spectrum placed in after effects, duplicated, flipped and covered with a feathered mask.

If you want to make a real spectrum in AE this will show you how to get the audio data.

Well it's my understanding that you can do a realtime spectrum display with AS3, but I have yet to find a good tutorial. And I really liked the mirrored version. I know how to do it in AE. Been there done that, but too involved and intense to do it with every song.

ahh I wasn't thinking Flash i just looked at the example. I would do pretty much the same thing though. One movieclip that actually gets the data then reflect that clip and cover it with a semi transparent mask.
