Need some advice - I'm trying to create a menu that has buttons on it that when you mouse over it the menu rises, then when you mouse off it, the menu returns to a hidden position with only a menu tab visible. I was able to create the menu and make it interactive to the point where the buttons work and when I mouse over it, the menu rises. What I am struggling with is how to get the menu to return to the "docked" position.

I tried creating an invisible border movieclip with the following action:

on (rollOut) {
gotoAndPlay("menuclose");
}

menuclose is a frame label within the movieclip's timeline. Can't get it to work! Anyone have another approach I should try?!?!?

try to create an movieclip with an name and move it to a frame (in this case, frame 2)
Code: [ Select ]
on (rollout){
  gotoAndStop(2);
}
  1. on (rollout){
  2.   gotoAndStop(2);
  3. }

and then in the end of tha animation at frame 2 write:

Code: [ Select ]
gotoAndStop(1);

Hope it works![/code]

Thanks for the idea - I actually ended up using an invisible area in a button with a rollover attribute to retract the menu - works pretty well!
