how would i go about opening a window within a movieclip? note, i am not interested in opening an external browser window. i'd like to open a window within flash that i can reposition, close, maybe resize, after it has been loaded. any ideas?

Well here is an extremely basic form of draggable windows...

You can change the _visible property to hide/show them if need be.

As for resizing, that one is more complicated.

great explanation of the swapDepths action!

doesn't go into any detail on the particulars of closing or resizing the window, however.

Ok, well no offense, but I really don't feel like going into detail on how to make a window like that.

So here is a tutorial I found on FlashKit...

http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/Inter ... /index.php

As for the resizing... again... that involves more advanced actionscripting. I believe Bit-101 ( http://www.bit-101.com ) once made a component that allowed for resizing draggable windows though.
