work area cutting off work

This may be an obvious answer- But I can't figure it out..

I'm working on something really wide, so much so that it goes off the the work area. How can I work on this image since its cut off?
View : work area is checked. Its just gone beyond the work area.

Either increase the workable area, or decrease the viewable percentage.

ive decreased the viewable down to 5% and it just dosent show. the work area just becomes a smaller square (like 1/8th of the screen) but still cuts it off.
how do you increase the workable area?

Click somewhere off your stage, then in the properties panel, adjust the stage dimensions that way.
