I'm totally at a loss with Action Script and I'm a bit thick so please keep answers in simple terms (try out your answers on the dog.... if the dog doesn't understand, the chances are I won't either). OK, having laid out clearly what you're dealing with here, here's my problem:

I've imported a 311-frame quicktime animation into Flash MX as a symbol so it only occupies one frame of the main stage. The clip is intended to continue playing in an unbroken loop once it has loaded. The filesize is about 4MB. How do I assign a preloader? I really need step-by-step instructions in simple terms!! :?

Thanks in advance, folks.

Thanks, Alecs. I got my labrador to read it and explain it to me then it all became clear. Works a treat.

I checked out the sites in your signature line. Loved the funny images (as a cartoonist, I have a penchant for funny images)
