to change directories use: cd
i.e. cd c:\dirName or cd dirName
to delete a file: del
for more details, type the command and /?
i.e. dir /?

What's the name of the file? Did you try to rename the file with the .ai extension?

PC's associate files with an extension and mac's do not.

I think the_Maven is right. I've had this happen to me before. McAfee has a free tool called the AVERT Stinger which can remove some of the more common viruses out there. It has worked great for me.
