A few questions: 1. How does System Works perform on a win 2000 pro machine? I had problems with it on 98 but i am wondering if was a 98 problem and not a Norton problem. Here are some basic commands:
to see a directory listing use: dir
to change directories use: cd
i.e. cd c:\dirName or cd dirName
to delete a file: del
for more details, type the command and /?
i.e. dir /?

What's the name of the file? Did you try to rename the file with the .ai extension?
PC's associate files with an extension and mac's do not.

I think the_Maven is right. I've had this happen to me before. McAfee has a free tool called the AVERT Stinger which can remove some of the more common viruses out there. It has worked great for me. I just installed a slipstream version of win2k w/ sp4. Everything runs smoothly except when browsing network shares. I mapped to one drive which is a DFS share and the other drive which is a regular NTFS share. I can connect and even browse the files but after a few seconds, the system hangs. i cann...
