1. Tell us how you came across OZZU.
Like most ppl, I was doing a search on google. My goal was to find some decent web design forums and ozzu came up as a first result 

2. Tell us about the town you live in.
I call Ottawa, Canada home, which is located on the Ottawa River and right on the Ontario-Quebec border. This means we have a huge French influence leaking into our culture. We are as close to the Quebec border as Detroit is to Windsor. The name “OTTAWA” is thought to derive from the name "Odawa", from the Algonquian-speaking people, and possibly meaning "to trade", "people of the forest", "those who have ears" or "raised hairs". Choosing a political capital for the Province Canada was politically difficult, so the decision fell to Queen Victoria, who selected Ottawa in 1857. The Parliament Buildings' construction began two years later, and when the Dominion of Canada was formed in 1867, Ottawa was confirmed as the capital of the new nation. Has we been able to look into a crystal ball at what the future held for this country, I’m sure they would have picked a much bigger city as the capital. Like Toronto which is thriving a lot more than Ottawa is (Ottawa right now is the gov’t capital of the country!, if you want to work for the gov’t Ottawa is the place to be) We have a population of over 1.2 million ppl which makes the Ottawa region the fourth-largest urban area in Canada.

3. If you could visit any country around the world, where would this be, and why?
Does it have to just be *one* country? I love to travel and learn about different cultures so limiting it to just one country wouldn’t be fair. But my top destinations would have to be Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Australia and the Fiji Island. Morocco because I have friends who have been and they rant and rave about how beautiful and exotic it is there with all the history. Spain because well it’s one of the countries I have yet to visit in Europe, Portugal and Greece because of the beautiful white homes by the waterfront just utterly breathtaking and well Fiji would represent any exotic island 

4. What first got you into computers?
My dad was a computer programmer by hobby all his life, so I grew up exposed to all the tech savvy toys at a very early age. He would take apart computers and call me to come and learn how to put them back together. He’d be so enthusiastic about the whole thing it just started to grow on me. Since he’s also an artist by hobby (painting & photography) I learned to appreciate that as well, hence why I merged both my love for art and computers into one career. Therefore, I can honestly say I am a proud geek girl all thanks to papa!

5. Tell us about your work, what do you do for a living?
I’m the lead web designer/developer at International Trade Canada. Basically I manage all the design and programming aspects of 4 websites while assisting with content management. I create the look and feel for the websites both intranet and public, any print material for ads and/or marketing, logo designs and create new scripts for online form submissions, contests and suggestion boxes.

6. I heard you recently bought an apartment. Tell us about the apartment, is it in a good area?
oOoOo good memory  Yes. I bought a loft style apartment in the heart of downtown. The area is known as the “by-ward market” and it’s the most south after area. That is where you will find all the bars/clubs/chic restaurants/stores. There is also a fresh daily market set up. It’s quite beautiful in the summer with the buskers and everything. If anyone wants to check out the site of my building it’s found at http://www.theeastmarket.com I’ll be in the third building (the tallest) on the 12th floor and it will be ready to take possession come June woo! I can’t wait, I’ve been waiting 3 yrs for this. It’s a 1 bedroom plus a den facing the north forest hills!

8. Do you have a personal site/blog?
Nope, though a couple of yrs ago I was going to venture into building a site with a friend where we’d start a blog/advice type column site for women by women. Because of our conflicting schedules, it never went through, though it was a great idea at the time. As for a site, everyone should be aware of my 613-flavah.ca site that is under construction :)

9. Who is your hero?
My aunt. She’s been deaf since birth and was taught from an early age that regardless of that she was no different than anyone else and could still do anything she put her mind to. Anything a hearing person could do, she could as well. She never went to a special deaf school except to learn how to read lips. She went to a normal high school, finished with honours and continued on to University where she acquired her Architectural degree and practiced for many years before immigrating to Canada. She moved in with us and went back to school (since her architecture degree was not recognized here) and got another degree this time in interior design with the help of a specialist who would come to the courses with her and type out the entire lectures for her to study. While she was living with us and studying she had a part time job as a waitress! A DEAF WAITRESS. Once she finished her degree she picked up all her things and moved to Toronto, not knowing a single soul and being completely deaf to search for a job. She’s been with the company now as the senior interior designer for the last 8 yrs and has bought herself a condo and has a car. She can read lips in Spanish & English. It’s completely bilingual is not a mute and is now learning French! Now how many deaf ppl do you know that have gone that far? I’m so proud of her accomplishments.

10. Finish this sentence "My life's motto is..."
To be all that I can be.

11. Name your top 5 pet peeves.
5 that’s it? LOL
1. ppl who rev their engines at red lights, do they honestly think this will make the light turn green faster?
2. ppl who burp super loud while out in public and don’t excuse themselves
3. ppl who don’t signal before they turn
4. ignorance
5. snoring

12. What are some of your favorite movies/books?
movies: the neverending story, the goonies, Halloween, all the nightmare on elm streets, life is beautiful, gummo, tron, clockwork orange, Donnie darko and le diner des cons (French flick)
books: the neverending story, the davinci code, all the shopaholic series, merrick medical encyclopedia

13. Do you drive? if yes, what do you drive?
I do have my lisence but not my own wheels yet so I use mommy’s. It’s not the greatest, def not my first choice but it gets me places chevy cav 2003

14. Could you go a week without a computer and/or internet access?
Anyone that knows me knows that is completely impossible. I went to the east coast for a week this past summer and I hadn’t received my new laptop in the mail and where I was going there was no internet no computer no internet cafes I almost had a heart attack.

15. What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of?
Buying a loft apartment at 23 yrs old without the help of a co-signer.

16. Is 613-flavah.ca ever going to arrive to a computer screen? It currently, and has done for as long as i can remember, said "coming soon 2005".
hahah, ok here’s the deal. My site WAS up and running up until sometime this fall when I decided I didn’t like the design anymore and thought I needed to badly update it with all my new skills. I was supposed to get cracking on that over the Christmas holidays but alas, I got busy with other things and didn’t feel inspired. I still don’t. Redesigning a site is not something that just happens, at least not for me, I have to carefully plan out every step of the way weeks if not months before hand it’s totally ridiculous. So don’t be surprised if all of 2006 there is nothing but the splash page still :P (psst the old design is still there, I just removed the index page hehe, kudos if you can figure out how to check it out though ;)

17. If a cow was to arrive in your living room and you got paid $10k to keep it there for 2 weeks, would you accept this offer?
of course I would why the hell not, though I’d have to take it out for walks and such so it wouldn’t pee or poo in the house or at least not as much hopefully. Imagine getting fresh milk every morning yum! I’d also be the talk of the town and not mentioning the 10K I’d really enjoy

18. Favorite day of the week?
Wednesday

19. Any useless talents?

22. Are you a morning person or night owl?

23. Tell us about your very first part time job.
haha I worked in a chip truck selling French fries and all that junk food made by yourself truly. I was awful (and still am) in math and there was no cash register, so I had to add up all the cash and give back the right change all by myself it was so stressful but fun. I was 15 yrs old.

24. Are you a task oriented person or a people oriented person?
I think it depends on the situation when it comes to working on a project, definitely task oriented but if it’s to do with someone then a people oriented person for sure.

25. You seem to be a person that enjoys some outdoor activity (i have taken this from some photographs i have seen), what would you say you enjoy doing the most?
LOL what a joke! I’m soooooooooo not the outdoorsy type at all! In fact, in the brutal winters we get here in Ottawa, I try to stay indoors (hibernate) as much as I can! Most of my friends won’t see me all winter. The photos you’re talking about is because I love taking photos of the outdoors more than anything. Most of them have been taken on a vacation trip I’ve been on. Hey does suntanning count as an outdoorsy activity? Cos I sure enjoy doing that :P

26. What's your zodiac sign?
The scales! (libra)

27. I am jealous of quite a few of your photographs, any hints or tips you have that you care to share with any other photography fans?

37. Favourite Ice Cream Flavour (well that was random wasn’t it )

39. If a train was heading towards California from Toronto at 235 mph, & a plane was heading in the opposite direction at 322 mph, both leaving at the same time, how long would it take for the italian place down the street to deliver a calzone ?

44. How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck had a woodchucker to chuck it ?
20 pieces of wood!

45. If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Pet shop boys. I’ve been such a huge fan of theirs since my dad introduced me to them back in 83 at the tender age of 5. They are my all time favorite band. I find their music so inspiring and so refreshing. Over the years their style has stayed the same yet at the same time, progressed with the times. I’d do anything to see them in concert or to be able to have a pint together and pick at their brain.

46. If you had a million dollars, what would you purchase first?
Funny, I’ve had this conversation many times before and my answers always seem to change. But since you asked what I’d purchase first, well I’d probably pay off my new apartment in one sum lump and then purchase either a car or another apartment for investment purposes.

47. You have hobbies, but what are your top 5 passions?
Reading, traveling, medicine, photography and dancing

48. What is your dream job/position?
Videogame tester!

49. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully married with a kid or two and living abroad.

50. What are your 3 greatest weaknesses?
Bad temper, stubbornness and can be bossy at times :P

51. 3 greatest strengths?
Easygoing, hardworking and fast learner

52. Favorite meal to cook?
Chicken à l’orange or chicken in coke (Peruvian thing )

53. Favorite food to order in?
Thai, Vietnamese or Chinese yum 

54. If you could go back and in your life and change one thing, what would it be?
Gone to university abroad when I had the chance.

55. Favourite other moderator
I don’t have a fave, I think they’re all wonderful at what they do. It wouldn’t be fair to single out one.

56. If you could meet one Ozzu member, who would it be?
Just one? There are a few I’d like to meet, mostly those I talk to on a regular basis. You know who you are!

57. If you were admin for a day, what is the first thing you'd do?
I don’t think I’d want that much responsibility. I enjoy enough being a mod I wouldn’t want that much more.

58. Favourite Member
Do I count? LOL jk. Noone in particular.
