Hey guys,

I've usually taken checks as payment for media services but I was recently thinking about getting an account with wells fargo to accept credit cards:

what are your experiences with this... revenue increase?
also is it better to just get a paypal account to accept cards... or should i link it with my business account using wells fargo?

Personally I would think that unless you get a lot of credit card payment your probably better off using paypal. Either one will charge you a per transaction fee but I think there are a bunch of other hidden costs with a regular bank credit card system. Now granted I haven't looked into this personally, but the Agency where I work was considering taking credit cards and it turned out to be a lot more expensive than was really feasible for the quantity of cards we would have gotten.

Is this something your clients are requesting or are you just looking for ways to get paid faster etc?

it's something that has been requested before.. i called the bank and they said like $45 a month for the terminal machine and 3.9% on every transaction plus 2 cents and then a $7 charge a month for the service...

paypal is waaaayyy cheaper... virtual terminal and something like 3% per transaction

Someone must want the frequent flyer miles :-) Anyway I'd stick with paypal until you do so many credit card transactions in a month that having a machine in your office is an issue.

I'm not going to get into details, but get in the habbit of sending a copy of the website on DVD/CD/etc via certified mail that the client has to sign for if you use Paypal.

You'll thank me later. ;)
