Adding a blog to my site

I have set up a blog at blogger.com and inserted the link to my blog into an iframe on my website.

Is this the preferred method of adding a blog to my site? I am concerned that Google will not see all of my blog content when it ranks my web pages. If 95% of my website content is within blog itself, and the blog does not actually exist on my site, it might not count as "content".

Why not just have a blog section added to your main navigation instead of having blogger?
