4ss_munk3y said what there is to say :D

Mac OS are more for graphic designers.

I'd go PC as that's what the 'rest of the world' uses. That and Linux.

That is a myth that Mac is for graphic designers, i do plenty of design and it all on a PC (at home) at work i do design and its on a Mac. Its not like Macs have special powers that make them better for design. IN FACT my great new G5 mac crashes on average of twice a day, my dual processor PC at home crashes maybe once a week max. just like lexus is just a toyota underneith all the glitz, macs are substandard computers wrapped up in a nice bow.

And my Linux system has crashed once in two months. Now what does this tell us about the relative merits of these operating systems? :P

is that a hardware problem, or is it the operating system?

untrue, it rarely crashes.. if you enabled " log of or shut down after x amount of minutes"
it will go off.

and Mac is better graphics engine built into the operating system , polygons, etc faster rate of drawing them, about 50 to 1 ratio of graphics software available for the Mac as far as graphics.

Almost everything that can be doen on pc can be done on a mac, and you can isntall Virtual Pc also to do some pc stuff on the mac.

also, its very very hard to get virus's, not to mention , most being written for PC, but also, the fact how the OS works on BSD/Unix Side where security is greater, its easy to install and delete stuff, just drag the file to trash instead of havign to uninstall its all included in a single file..
also, almost no chance of spyware. Stuff Like that, requires admin access to the Operating system, which the system will ask for a login/pass when altering anything.

Most reputable game's Also produce the games for mac.

also, it has other nice features, and is warm and not sterile cold..

"intrepid design" crashes twice a day is such a lie..
Mines never crashed.. and Majority of people I know never had a crash, its usually Hardware ( maybe you shoved somethign in theyre that doesn't belong) and is causing inflictions, or poorly written software..
Also, G5 is a cpu chipset and not a actual model of computer.
Must be more specific. also, if theyre using 9 and below os's those can crash just like windows 98 and below.

im lying about it crashing twice a day huh, hahahah ok, i didnt know you worked in my office, you must be able to see my screen in order to make such a statement. fact of the matter is that yes macs do have all that fancy hardware, and one would naturally think WOW! those must be the best computers EVER! how could anyone work on a PC after seeing such an impressive resume! but the truth is Macs and the "great" software they run on are flawed. hhaha but tell that to a mac person and they will bring up bus speed and bla bla bla. i really dont care as long as a computer works im all good with it, it just so happens all of our G5's at work (there are 4 of them so far) are lemons.

Bottom line is that Mac OS X is unix based, so most things that people
say about linux or unix apply to Mac OS X. the thing you have to
remember about Mac OS X and Windows, is that both are INTERFACES
that CONTROL an OS. For windows (even though they try to make it
seem otherwise) it's DOS, and for Mac OS X, it's unix.

The analogy about toyota and lexus is offbase, because they are not
made by the same people or the same companies, and certainly not
with the same core. They are clearly 2 different brands of the same
product.

I always feel Mac VS Windows discussions are like Chevy VS Ford.
Everyone has a good and bad story to tell as to which is better or
worse. What it all comes down to in the end, is your personal
preference, budget, and overall needs in a computer.
