I was looking for a place in Balboa park with Google maps, and came across a plane mid flight making a landing. I live in San Diego.

Just one of the many wierd things you see on Google Maps.

There's two of them, actually. If you head towards the runway you'll see another plane about to land.

Naw look closely at the planes, they are different.

But it does show two planes that are really close to each other. They are supposed to be 3 miles apart, and those are difinately not 3 miles apart.

They are different planes when you zoom way in. The one to the east (farther from the run way) has some text towards the front on the right side, which is not seen on the other plane. And they are awful close together, I still think maybe the pictures were taken at two different times. Like if you do a google maps search for Brady Nebraska, there is snow covering the ground for a big rectangular area, but the surrounding area is nice and green like summer time, thats kind of funny.

Maybe it just snowed in that one rectangular area.

That wouldn't surprise me. Last summer here in North Platte one day if you lived on the west side of town you were in nice sunny weather but on the east side of town they got golf ball sized hail. Seriously, you could literally cross a street and go from good weather to bad.

In a while that'll disappear again though ... when they re-take that picture again ... and like some of those on mapofstrange .. whatever was there is gone now ...

That doesn't surprise me much either. The place where I live now, I often can see and hear airplanes descending to the airport near the town I live in.

And I think the probability of getting shots from Google Earth is high.
