I am currently thinking about attending an online\study at home program for website design. I was hoping that some of you could help guide me in the right direction.

Are there any schools that you would suggest? or any to steer clear of?

I have some minor knowledge of css and html coding but nothing special. I would really like to get started in this field but currently I have been unable to locate anyone in my area to speak to regarding what to look for in a school, or what the main points of study should be for this career path.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

I would suggest doing some research into the curriculum. Unfortunately not all schools are created equal.

This group is working hard to provide a somewhat standardized education and they may be able to provide a list of groups teaching solid theory: Web Standards Education Task Force

The Opera Education Group might also be worth a contact since they're actually partnering with schools right now.
