Maybe there is some truth to this after all....

Quote:
Phytoestrogens, sometimes called "dietary estrogens", are a diverse group of naturally occurring non steroidal plant compounds that, because of their structural similarity with estradiol (17-β-estradiol), have the ability to cause estrogenic or/and antiestrogenic effects.

Quote:
Phytoestrogen content varies in different foods, and may vary significantly within the same group of foods (e.g. soy beverages, tofu) depending on processing mechanisms and type of soy bean used. Legumes (in particular soybeans), whole grain cereals, and some seeds are high in phytoestrogen. A more comprehensive list of foods known to contain phytoestrogens includes: soy beans, tofu, tempeh, soy beverages, linseed (flax), sesame seeds, wheat, berries, oats, barley, dried beans, lentils, rice, alfalfa, mung beans, apples, carrots, pomegranates, wheat germ, ricebran, soy linseed bread, ginseng, bourbon and beer fennel and anise.

Whoa, Spoof, why on earth would you turn a joke into a non-fictional scientific horror? :D

Reading that article at first really got me because I'd just sat through a seminar where many of the scientist were doing research on proteins/hormones from chemical waste found in lakes and streams causing reproductive defects in aquatic lifeforms err.. mostly fish. They weren't enviromentalist but more embryologist so this is an enviromental problem and not just some hogwash. So, when the article phrased the discovery of hormones in the beer I immediately thought of their sour mash getting contaminated or something. Very funny.

I dont think so...its just a funny post. A man is always a man weather he is drunk or not drunk. If a man much more than he can tolerate he will obviously become an animal but not a woman.

OK that was very funny, but my science teacher did say beer contains female hormones and would cause a man to get moobs.
