Personally, I don't much care for bundled software that professes to do everything. Usually, those sorts of products tend to do a bunch of stuff poorly, despite the propaganda on the side of the box (or website, whatever).

I would suggest you get SpyBot Search and Destroy to deal with your spyware problems, and AVG Free Edition from Grisoft to deal with your anti-virus needs, both are completely free of charge.

If you want a firewall, my suggestion USED to be the free version of Kerio PFW, but their newer version seems to not be quite as good as the older free version was. Guess they realized if they wanted to sell a product they can't give away most of the features in a free version... heh.

Too bad, I liked that firewall... ZoneAlarm isn't nearly configurable enough.

I am looking for an antivirus for Windows XP because I am tired of all that *plum* that tries to infect my PC. So far I looked into Kaspersky Anti Virus and McAfee VirusScan. Which one is better or should I pick something entirely different?

Personally, I use Norton 2005 and Micro$oft Anti-Spyware. The two of those together work great for me.

Not sure about Microsoft, but Norton Antivirus 2005 does a good job.

Ditto Norton. It saved me on many occasions.

I merged your topic with this one LukaBuka. You can continue from here.
What is the key of a succesful relationship? is not about finding the right person, is based on two people doing the right things.

I don't use anti-virus software, or anti-spyware.
I used to have a whole bunch of things: Norton, ZoneAlarm, Microsoft AntiSpyware, Spybot, to name a few. But I really found it an unncessary use of my comp resources, and usually exited them the moment I logged on.
If you're careful about downloading stuff, it usually shouldn't be a big problem.
