Considering Blueray disks are already in the neighborhood of $5 a piece, I'm thinking it's always going to be more cost effective to abandon these flimsy disk based storage systems for anything at all and just start using external harddrives, or thumb drives, in their place one of these days.

Honestly I see the entertainment industry moving away from physical media in the future. With on-demand services and digital formats, people aren't going to see the point in making expensive switches in physical formats every few years when they can just stream everything.

i think blue ray is good. but getting a gigabyte internet is better.
