Buying an existing website

Hi everyone,

Has anyone ever tried to purchase an existing website?

Untill now, I have always built my own websites, but my free time is getting less and less. I saw there is quite a big market out there, which offers operational websites, some of which have implemented Adsense, affiliates, etc. already, some of which are generating revenues (or at least they say so), and some of which are fully automated.

Does anyone have experience with this market?
Which are the reliable brokers?
How do I recognize a scam?
Any other ideas?

I'm a little outside the market, but first of all... if the site is working stable and making good profit - no one will sell it.

Anyway it's better to buy from people who's not new in the community and has a reliable responses from people who worked with him.
