ok nvm i got the CHMOD part but now all i need to understand is this:

try right clicking on the file and see if something like "attributes" comes up...

Click on the file or folder you need to CHMOD.

CTRL+SHIFT+A or

On the Tool Bar,

Commands, File Actions, CHMOD

Then select the combo you need.
