Hi, just joined the board because I found a reference to "clspring" which I believe is a trojan I detected on my pc.

Wondering if anyone knows what this trojan does and how to eliminate it if it really is a trojan at all.

I was running f-prot virus software in dos mode from reboot to dos in win98. f-prot reported:
_________________________________________
C:\windows\applications\phoenix\profiles....

W32/CLspring.A

Security risk, can not be disinfected, only deleted
__________________________________________

I believe the directory where this file was found is part of Mozilla (browser I use) I deleted the file per f-prot option, now wondering what may be left to clean-up and what does this virus do?? Google search only had two hits for "clspring virus" one at avast.com and one on this message board.

Anyone know anything or had experience with this one in the past??

thanks in advance, JD

Well I went to Symantec's site, and told it to search every site it has in every country, and its virus encyclopedia, and it came up with zero results for that virus.

I would contact Symantec directly if I were you, and see what they have to say. If it's something new, they might know about it, but not have a resolution for the problem yet.
