Hey folks, I did a google search but its so hard to know what is good software and what is not.

Does anyone have any personal preferences for converting avi files to mp4?

I just got a ipod video and most of my video files are in avi format. I don't mind to pay for the software as long as it's good.

Any input from anyone who does this already?

:D

Hi, thanks for your reply, but I am unaware how this website helps me to convert my current avi files to mp4 format... this site converts files already on the web.

I use SUPER © for sticking mp4's on to my PSP. Converts avi's nicely and is FREE without any catches.

It's makers have a scabbly looking website though ... the program itself doesn't. :)

You can try Handbrake if you are mac user, if you are Windows user, you can use WinFF. The are free , but free converter has limits. Aunsoft Video Converter is best to keep audio and video sync when transcoding AVI to MP4. It can output HD quality MP4. However, the original file quality is the crucial.

Thanks, I mostly use MacX Video Convertor now. I find it converts pretty much everything including some very random types of files :)

I have collected some AVI files and need to convert AVI to popular video formats like MP4, MOV, WMV, MKV, FLV, etc. for convenient playback or use in editing programs. After countless tests, I found an article to help me achieve. Go to Brorsoft website to search: .avi to .mp4. You will get the tutorial. Hope it can help you. Good luck!
