I was cracking up/getting mad with this chat with a customer representative working for my domain registrar. Let me know if you think it's funny, namely the bold part:

Perry Peters: Hi James. My name is Perry, how are you today?
James C: I'm ok, you?
Perry Peters: I'm great, thank you. How can I help you today?
James C: I changed my nameservers 2 days ago and changes have not taken effect.
Perry Peters: I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.
Perry Peters: I have noticed that you have not set the Security Question. In order to set the Security Question, please follow the steps given below:
Perry Peters: 1) Log into the Control Panel with your account username and password.
Perry Peters: 2) Click on the link 'Set Security Question' under 'Account Information' section.
Perry Peters: 3) Click on the radio button 'New Profile'.
Perry Peters: 4) Enter the First Name, Last Name, and set the Security Question and the Security Answer.
Perry Peters: 5) Click on the 'Save' button.
James C: Alright, just a second, internet here is slow.
Perry Peters: Okay.
James C: Done.
Perry Peters: To protect your account from unauthorized changes, can you please verify for me the answer to the Security Question:
Perry Peters: What is your SECURITY QUESTION?
James C: SECURITY ANSWER
Perry Peters: Thank you for the authentication.
Perry Peters: Your domain may not be visible for 24-72 hours, as it takes time for the new information to propagate to all of the DNS servers around the world. Please try accessing your domain once again after the specified time.
James C: It has been 72 hours.
Perry Peters: I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.
Perry Peters: Please provide me the domain name.
James C: jameschurchard.com
Perry Peters: Okay.
Perry Peters: I have noticed that the domain 'jameschurchard.com' is pointing to ZONEEDIT.COM.
James C: Yes, I have changed it 3 days ago and again yesterday to PIPEDNS.COM
James C: http://login.globat.com/dcc
James C: I used that site.
Perry Peters: It may be issue with the ZONEEDIT.COM.
Perry Peters: You need to contact you hosting service provider.
James C: How would ZONEEDIT.COM have any control over which nameservers I tell you, my registrar, to use?
Perry Peters: The domain domain 'jameschurchard.com' is pointing to ZONEEDIT.COM.
James C: They are simply a provider I use for DDNS.
Perry Peters: You need to contact them to resolve your issue.
James C: Yes, and I used Globat's control panel to change that to PIPEDNS.COM, thereby removing any further involvement with them.
Perry Peters: Unfortunately, we can't do anything.
James C: You can't control a domain name registered to you?
Perry Peters: You need to contact your DNS service provide for the Web site.
Perry Peters: Sorry for the typo* You need to contact your DNS service provide for the Web site issue.
James C: ... Globat controls who my DNS Service Provider (nameserver) is right? That is the whole point of the "Change DNS Server" option in my control panel.
James C: I wish to change my DNS Service Provider to PIPEDNS.COM
Perry Peters: Yes, you are right. Now, the issue is with your DNS DNS service provider.

James C: I want Globat to point my domain to PIPEDNS.COM, not to ZONEEDIT.COM
Perry Peters: To change the name servers for your domain, please refer to the steps given below:
Perry Peters: 1. Log into https://manage.opensrs.net/ with domain name, domain username and domain password.
Perry Peters: 2. Click on the ‘Manage Name Servers’ link.
Perry Peters: 3. Enter the new name servers and click on the ‘Save Configuration’ button.
James C: This has nothing to do with them.
James C: What is my username for that site?
Perry Peters: Please follow the above steps to change the name servers.
James C: I don't know my username.
James C: Unable to update all domains; 0 success, 1 failure. Please contact support for assistance.
Perry Peters: I have sent the domain 'jameschurchard.com' login information to your domain Administrative e-mail myemail@myprovider.com . Please check the e-mail to retrieve the information.
Perry Peters: I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.
Perry Peters: Did you receive my last message?
James C: Yes.
Perry Peters: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
James C: I can't update my nameservers, I keep getting errors.
Perry Peters: Please provide me the domain login information.
James C: I have not received your email
James C: Nevermind.
Perry Peters: Okay.
Perry Peters: Are you able to change the name servers now?
James C: 1 second.
Perry Peters: Sure.
James C: Nameservers modification for jameschurchard.com successfully submitted to registry.
James C: We'll see if this works.
Perry Peters: Great!
Perry Peters: Okay.
Perry Peters: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
James C: Nope.
James C: Have a nice day.

Because all they know how to do is regurgitate the script they are trained to use.

It depends on what country you are outsourcing from. If English is their second language, then they wouldn't have to memorize and use each word on the script.
