One mans friend, is another mans enemy.

This is what I've learned over the years. I've seen everyone I grew up with wrong people who were supposed to be their friends time and time again, without exception.
Why must people have friends ?
Wouldn't life be soo much easier if everyone just treated everyone else the same ?

I'm convinced that friends are the root of all evil.

Friends escape me. I don't have many of them. I can count them on one hand even if I lost a couple of fingers in an accident. Some days I wish I had more but overall I am quite fine not having any.

I've always heard that myspace was hell, but now it makes sense.

Is it sad that this definition actually crossed my mind when I saw this thread?

Friends are generally discouraged. Self-containment and privacy are hailed. If you're going to interact with other, it had better be very, very minimal.

to each is own, i know some people who are content with having little to know friends. and then i know me, a social butterfly i am, i need socialization, i enjoy going into the depths of whichever person is my "friend" at the moment. i wish i had more friends, or not so much more as i am a bit popular, but better quality. quality pwns.

No one has ever succeeded in a high scale alone, choose your friends wisely, and lead them.

Frodo couldn't have succeeded to throw the ring, if Sam wasn't there to help him...and they have a bunch of other hobbits who are really friends.

Love your enemies, and cultivate good relationships with friends, those who betray, should be forgotten as a friend.

Sometimes, we dun have to be with them everyday, doing things together, that's gay. Just maintain good relationship using MSN, or SMS, and still you can have many friends.

I have a few "close friends" lots of "friends" and tons of acquaintances.

I've never tried to "make friends". That is a sign of being desperate.

Humm I like my friends.

I haven't got many good ones, but then you're not supposed to. The ones I do have I wouldn't trade for the world. Might be a cheesy thing to quote poetry in an anti-friend thread, but a line comes to mind -

'the heart belong to him who knew it best'.

I like having some people in the world who really know me, even if we don't always meet each other's expectations. It's just comforting somehow...........

For me a friend is a person who would remain by my side no matter the circumstances and who'd help me be a better person.
