I've noticed my last question, and maybe one before, have been deleted without notice.
I asked if it is possible to edit the value of a cookie, and if possible how hard it would be. Since cookies are used in/for coding, and coding is required in order to use them, i posted this in the Coding Section,
and I do not now if a moderator believed i was doing wrong?

I do realise you aren't required to go into this, but i would appreciate an explanation.
Thank you

Depends on the nature of what your question was. I didn't see the post, but if it was a question on how to edit the value of a cookie someone placed on your computer, or a cookie from another website other than your own, that falls in a grey area of hacking and would not be allowed to remain on the boards.

If on the other hand, your question was in regards to designing and implementing cookies to be used on your own website, that is clearly a programming need and should be allowed to be discussed.

Since I didn't see what you asked I can't be more specific, but I hope that clears it up.

Thank you very much, I will try again, maybe there was a misunderstanding.

Indeed, as i also stated in the post im thinking of using it in the code of a login section together with edit profile & others. I have done safer things that had no success, and i think this will, but then again, im wondering if it isnt too unsafe.

I didn't see the post either, wasn't me who nuked it, but I back up what ATNO says.

There are some good PHP tutorials out there for this. If you want to start a new thread saying what you're trying to do, I'll see if I can hunt out the URLs for you :)
