That wheel is kinda cool, but really defeats the purpose of me getting a pet. :)

My hamster has been acting erratic for the last week. When I came in here just now she was laying out in the open and when I made a clicking noise with my tongue like I always do when I pass her, she didn't move. She was also laying on her side which she never does.

I opened the cage, picked her up and she started flinching so I pet her for awhile.

I had to dig this thread up to see how long I've had her, it looks like roughly a year and a half. They're supposed to live about 2 years from what I've read. I don't know how long Petsmart had her before I got her though. A few months ago I saw another robo dwarf hamster acting in a similar way at Petsmart, so they might have these little guys for awhile before they sell them sometimes.

I'm 99% sure she's on her way out. :(

She died shortly after I posted. It was about 2AM.
She always liked running through the cardboard tubes I had in her cage, so I put her in one of them and burred her.

I'm looking over there now, and seeing that I still have a half gallon or so of hamster food left, I don't think I could have spent more than $20 on hamster food over the course of a year and a half.

Looks like I'm going to have to find a new desktop pet. I've been checking out some of the small birds, or baby dinosaurs as I like to call them, when I go to the petshop for food. I didn't want to start a zoo here so I never got one of them.
